Server Setup & Configuration

When your server is first provisioned, Quantum Devswork installs a recent and compatible FiveM artifact version. However, you may later choose to reinstall or update this version manually. This guide explains how to properly perform a clean installation, a full reinstall, or a safe update.

1. Initial Installation (First-time Setup)

  • Log in to the Pterodactyl Panel and access your FiveM server.

  • Quantum Devswork has pre-configured the latest compatible artifact in your template.

  • You may skip manual configuration unless you wish to reinstall or update it manually.

2. Reinstalling FiveM (Full Reset)

Warning: This process deletes all your server files. Make a backup before proceeding.

  1. Go to the File Manager tab and delete all contents.

  2. Visit the official artifact list:
    https://runtime.fivem.net/artifacts/fivem/build_proot_linux/master/

  3. Copy the version identifier from the URL of any fx.tar.xz.
    Example:
    From:
    .../17346-c75a342e872e34d431322d03d45881f664a4098b/fx.tar.xz
    Use:
    17346-c75a342e872e34d431322d03d45881f664a4098b

  4. Paste that value into the FiveM Version field in the panel.

  5. Click Reinstall in the Settings tab.

3. Updating FiveM Artifacts (Without Wiping Files)

This is used when you want to update to a newer artifact while keeping your server files intact.

  1. Visit: https://runtime.fivem.net/artifacts/fivem/build_proot_linux/master/

  2. Copy the version ID from your desired fx.tar.xz file.

  3. Enter this version ID in the FiveM Version field.

  4. Click Reinstall in the Settings tab — this will update the artifact without removing your existing scripts, resources, or configurations.

4. Port Configuration

Each FiveM server is assigned a unique port.

  • Open your server.cfg file.

  • Replace the default port 30120 with your assigned port (visible in the Network tab of your panel).

  • If this is not updated, players may not be able to connect to your server.

If you are using txAdmin, make sure that the assigned port has been requested in advance from our support team.
You may configure the txAdmin port from the Startup tab in your server panel.

5. Additional Notes

In your server.cfg, make sure the following values are properly set:

  • sv_licenseKey → get it from: https://portal.cfx.re
(Optional if already configured via txAdmin Startup tab)

  • sv_hostname → your server’s name.

  • onesync_enabled → should be set to true for extended multiplayer support.

  • Accept FiveM’s license terms in your configuration.

Also:

  • Go to https://portal.cfx.re and assign your license key to a new server.

  • If you plan to use streamed assets (custom clothing, vehicles, MLOs, etc.) or host more than 63 players, you are required to purchase the Argentum license from CFX.
